Question Advice needed for non-techie - which 6" or 7" GPS unit to buy/consider?

    Hi

May I have your advice please? I'm trying to choose the best GPS hardware and software for my car and am overwhelmed by options and features!

    I'm looking for:
    • 6" or 7" touch screen
    • Wireless reversing camera
    • User friendly software and interface (- very important!)
    • As cheap as possible

There are so many variantions, e.g. These: (Tick the box to Include title and description or it won't show anything.)

    So, to help me...

    - Which units or software have you had good experiences with?

    - Which units or software do you regret wasting time/money on?

    - What are the 'must have' features for a good user exprience?

    - What are the 'must avoid' features for preventing frustration?

Please remember, I am really an imposter on this forum - that is, not very technical . Be gentle...

Seriously...nothing? Not a word of advice from anyone...at all?

I've realised that the link redirect has stopped working, which won't help. Grrr.

Its a hard question to answer as there are many many chinese gps's.

Probably one thing to look out for is if you are a Tomtom user, it is almost impossible to get Tomtom to work on units with 128 meg ram and CE6. Bluetooth is a must have in my opinion, FM transmitter can also be handy. Any unit that allows you to access the Windows desktop as well is also handy.

iGo is probably the most popular general GPS software at the moment, I was once a Tomtom man but iGo craps on it now and has so much third party support for skins etc.

Yes I agree about the Tomtom issue on 128mb ram units, i have been almost tearing my hair out for weeks but still no joy.
However IGO works just fine and there is a Garmin high resolution version of XT which runs really well on 800X480 screens.
