Default Vu+ Duo and AVLABS USB DVB-T tuner

    Hi,

Has anyone managed to get the above working? There are DVB-T tuner drivers downloadable throught the PLi image but they are for a Sundtek tuner Maybe I need to go back to the Dream Elite image and find the drivers and manually load them?

Or if someone could write a tut on how to do this would be handy too.
I have an Artec DVB-T tuner I'd like to use that doesn't work with the Sundtek drivers either

Which USB DVB-T tuners work with the Sundtek drivers?

This will get the AVLABS AVL680HD USB DVB-T tuner working with PLI.

    Cheers

That's the one forum I didn't look on. I was going to post on the Pli forum last night and noticed he's a member there also.

    Thanks,

Thanks for the link sandery, didn't help me with getting my stick recognised though. Unless I missed a step?
After uploading the firmware (with the adapted kernel file included), FTP-ed TRR panel and then installed. Then load the TDT hack via Ppanel, box reboots but when I go to my tuner setup page it still only shows the two inbuilt sat tuners.

The supplied drivers in this instance are not the drivers for your USB DVB-T device. But, if you hunt down the DE drivers for your hardware, and apply the same principle, you can make it work.

    I wish you good luck.

When DE disbanded thier sever where you download drivers was also switched off. The drivers need to be loaded manually. I did find some drivers but couldn't workout what was for the DVB-T. Let us know how you go.

can confirm definately works and i dont think it matters what open pli image you use , as i havent used the same image as oldmate used , anyway heres the easy way to do it

DONT PLUG IN USB TUNER UNTIL YOU HAVE COMPLETED POINT 8

    1.format a usb stick to fat32 via -control panel/ administrative tools /computer managment / disk managment / right click format / fat32

    2. on ya blank usb stick make two folders , (use lower case letters) first folder called - vuplus , make a 2nd folder inside vuplus called - duo

3.get a good open pli image your happy with and download usb version onto pc ,extract files to a folder , open the folder vuplus then duo and copy the three files inside the duo folder

    4. open the vuplus/duo folder on your blank usb stick and paste the three files you just copied they should be boot , kernal and root files.

5.Go to this site h**p://www.satpimps.com/showthread.php?p=748166 and download the kernel_cfe_auto.zip file that is in post #5 . Once downloaded ,extract kernel_cfe_auto.bin file and copy and paste it into your usb duo file overwriting the existing file

    6. Now that you have your flash image sorted flash your box by turning it off , plug usb into front slot , and turn back on , once flashed upload via ftp all neccessary .xml files satellite , terrestrial etc .

    7. IMPORTANT : from the
    h**p://www.satpimps.com/showthread.php?p=748166
webpage download the TRRPanel.rar file at bottom of page . Extract this file and ftp it to /etc/ppanels/ in your vu+

8.Get the remote for your vu+ and press blue button you will see ppanels in the list , open this and select trrpanel from here you can update the trrpanel, download cams and their configs all sorts of goodies once downloaded what you need , go inside util in trrpanel and select pli tdt hack (af9015). Always make sure you enable what you have loaded from this menu , also load whatever cam configs you need via ftp . Switch off box to reboot (use switch at back of box)

    9. reboot box and configure tuners , you should now see AVLABS tuner in list as afatech af9013 scan using uploaded .xml files

10.pics . If i have forgoten anything , i have had a fair bit to drink today

That's exactly what I did. I tried the tuner on my laptop so it works. I wasn't that impressed with it's performance but not sure if this was partly the laptops fault.

Exactly what I did too but mine wouldn't show up either.
Might give up on it for now, would have been nice but it's not that important. If you get Aurora you get most of the channels anyway.
