i am tring to insert a photo in a comment in a cell in excel

What fatcow is trying to work out is how the pictures were inserted in the comments box.

right-click the comment then select format comment
under 'colours and lines' choose the 'colour' drop-down, then 'fill effects'
there is a tab here called 'picture' click 'select picture'
would make a nice list....LOL

Add a Picture to a Comment
One of the best resources for excel tips
- Right-click the cell which contains the comment.
- Choose Show Comment, and clear any text from the comment.
- Click on the border of the comment, to select it.
- Choose Format|Comment
- On the Colours and Lines tab, click the drop-down arrow for colour.
- Click Fill Effects
- On the picture tab, click Select Picture
- Locate and select the picture
- Click Insert, click OK, click OK
