    Default Smargo on Vu+Duo Pli image

    My set up for the smargo is as follows:

    [reader]
    label = smargo
    enable = 1
    protocol = smartreader
    device = 003:004
    services =
    smargopatch =
    caid = xxxx
    detect = cd
    mhz = 680
    cardmhz = 500
    ident =
    group = 1
    emmcache = 1,1,0
    blockemm-g = 1
    lb_weight = 100

    Works fine first time round but on restart of oscam I get the following:

    usb_bulk_read read error -99

    I have read on some forums this is due to the older vesrsion of kernel not releasing the USB devices correctly.

    Does anyone have a fix for this

    i still dont know what the big deal about ecm times is my server runs flawlessly no interuptions or freezeing to me or any of my clients i dont use CCcam/oscam set up im useing newcamd/oscam set up!!! if i was more techno savy i might use a smargo or a phoenix reader but since im having no problems i wont change at this stage!!!!

    If you are having no pixelation issues then don't change. You will find if you connect more clients then your ecm times will increase then you may get pixelation. If that did happen then you would look at setting up a smargo to get a faster response time/lower ecms/less pixelation.

    thanks leroy for your words of wisdom at least i understand what the ecm time is for now!!!lol but i have noticed on the vu+duo it fluctuates between 80 ecms and 326 ecms since ive changed the AU from 1 to #oxtel so i think ive improved the times by doing that i think but im far from being any sort of expert!!!

    I never stop learning! That's good that the ecm time has improved.

    well, enabling AU will triger emm updates, theoretically it should increase the ecm timing as the reader/card has to handle emm now in addition to ecms.
    Strange.

    Cheers
