Default Platinum HD & Multiroom Question

    So here is my setup:

    1 Standard Box / DM800 (smartcard 1)
    1 IQ Box (smartcard 2)

Now, instead of using the standard box (they are crap IMO), I am using a DM800.

I am thinking about upgrading my subscription to the Platinum HD package, meaning I'd get an IQ2 box to replace the IQ (smartcard 2), and access to the HD channels.

    My question is this:

Will I be able to view the HD channels on the DM800 (smartcard 1)?

    Any info appreciated,

    'max

Im pretty sure Oscam will keep your HD entitlements happy. Not sure why you are using an IQ box though. You would be better off with 2 dreams.

I guess what I'm really asking is will access to HD channels be active on BOTH the smartcards, or only the one that is assigned to the IQ2 box?

From what I saw a while back entitlements flow to both cards.

i.e Nat Geo HD, FS1,2,3, BBC HD.

Yes, well you can get either its a lucky dip. Ive had an installer buy boxes from me and he had a plenty of brand spanker blueys in the Van.

The cards are orange. So it seems that both cards will get the HD entitlements. Thanks for your input guys.

Come back and update the thread when you upgrade your package.

Entitlements are identical to all cards on your account.
However to get all HD channels you must have an orange card since the newer HD channels only have an ECM stream that works with the orange cards. The older HD channels have ECM streams for both orange and blue cards.

Yeah, and I'm assuming that if I want their HD channels I have to *pay* for their iq2 "install"?
