    Hi klirou,

As detailed in my post, it's not difficult to buy either the Aston SIMBA HD or Pace/Philips HD from Antelec in Noumea for ~$497.00 AUD (including insured delivery to Australia). See

But you will only get access to the following channels with the smart card included with either Sat Decoder:

    Calédonie Première
    Wallis Première
    France2
    France 3
    France 4
    France 5
    France 0
    Arte
    France 24
2 extras channels from French Polynesia and Caledonian (FTA-Feeds)

As well as these radios stations from Paris:
    France Inter
    France info (News)
    France Culture
    Radio Calédonie

You most certainly won't get access to the XXL channel. That would only be available in one of the subscription packages from Canalsat Caledonie which range from €33 to €175 a month, but are only available to people in New Caledonia and not Australia. See:

The package "LES CHAINES CANAL+" is sold for €64 a month

Subscription packages for the following from Canalsat Caledonie which range from €33 to €175 a month.

Canalsat Caledonie have a local company operating here in Australia called Le Bouquet Français (LBF), but they don't offer the same packages as they do in New Caledonia. See:

LBF offer two packages here in Australia. The Basic Package, and the Premium Package.

I have the Premium Package from LBF which include the following.

    Video Channels:

    1 - TF1
    11 - Calendonie 1ere S
    16 - France O
    19 - Wallis 1ere SAT
    21 - LC1
    22 - 1TELE
    24 - France 24
    27 - Sport+/L'Equip
    28 - InfoSport
    31 - RTL9
    35 - TV5MONDE
    36 - TF6
    37 - TMC
    41 - Planete
    42 - Planete THALASSA
    43 - Voyage
    45 - Cuisine TV
    47 - Histoire
    48 - Planete + No Limit
    63 - Cinema Emotion
    65 - Action
    66 - TCM
    72 - Gulli
    81 - MCM Top
    82 - MCM Pop
    83 - Trace Urban

    Radio Channel:

    101 - Europe 1
    102 - France Info
    103 - RFM
    104 - Jazz Radio
    105 - Radio N Caledoni

    107 - Le Mouv
    108 - France Inter
    109 - France Monde
    110 - France Culture
    111 - Radio O

    Anyway I hope this helps!

    Kind Regards

I can confirm that the UltraPlus 900HD work without any issues with the Smart Card issued to me by LBF for their CanalSat/Canal+ Service here in Australia. Also know that michell has a UltraPlus 980HD working with similar Smart Card.

I don't know anything about sharing this type of Smart Card between two UltraPlus units as detailed here:

    Kind Regards

Pardon if this is a stupid question but can you pick up i701 with a mpeg2 sat decoder.
I just need to position my motek for a future decoder upgrade.
I know you can't see any channels as they are in mpeg4.

I have just set up a motek at home and can get D2, C1/D3, D1 and Intelsat 8 but so far have had no luck with i701...I am in good line of sight and live in a decent signal strength area but only have (at the moment) an old strong 4658x

I am unable to check, but I used to be able to receive the PBS bouquet on 12648, H, 28066, 3/4 () at good signal strength. You should too, as this is a standard DVB-S transmission and the beam covers Australia ().

Even though you can currently receive Optus D2, C1/D3, D1 and Intelsat 8 (a total of only 14 degrees travel), the alignment of your Motek positioner might not be sufficiently accurate to receive signals from Intelsat 701, as it is an additional 14 degrees from Intelsat 8, at 180 degrees east.

An universal LNB will be necessary to receive any other Ku-band signals from Intelsat 701.

Thanks tristen. D'oh...I should have thought of PBS...will test tomorrow.
Yeah mate, got a universal from when I had the motek set up at my last place and used to get i701 loud and clear.....although it wasn't perfect as it would only get i701 C1 and D1(I think) so my set-up was not as good as I wanted

Well tristen, you were right. Tried it on the PBS settings, tweaked the motek angle a tiny bit and now have i701 as well as the other sats but D1 is now borderline...ahhh the fun of setting up a motek. Might try some lnb skewing another day...had enough of being up on the roof with a tv, sat decoder, two remotes, spanners, nikko marker, extension lead and cables
    Thanks again for your help.

Good work, mandc. I'm glad that you have had success.

Skew will be a compromise, I'm afraid. You will have to find the correct angle by trial and error.

I use a 90 cm offset dish on my Motek positioner, which tracks from Asiasat 5 in the west to Intelsat 5 in the east, but due to tree obstruction I had to install a second 90 cm dish for reception of Intelsat 701. My wife, in her infinite wisdom, planted a citrus tree in front of the latter, assuring me that "it won't grow very large". Well the inevitable has since occurred, hence my earlier comment that I couldn't check reception for you.

It's the LNB skew that's the issue. Optus sats are on a different skew to the others. As mentioned above you have to find a compromise but if you do a bit of feed hunting you'll miss out on those weaker signal feeds.
