Ahhh.. beat me with your own edit LOL
Sorry about that mate. I realised I didn't put all the info in and Link. Anyway I just thought it strange they have removed all the encryption and all those channels are unencrypted. Very strange! I can understand if they weren't encrypted (breifly) when they move to Intelsat 18. But that is days away (3). Someone stuffed up is my guess. Not that I'm complaining mind you!

    Cheers!

Maybe the contract with viaccess only allows a certain number of channels to be encrypted so they shut down the current ones to setup the new channels on the new bird...just a thought

I noticed a few days ago they moved Intelsat 18 into 179.99 and moved Intelsat 701 to 179.94 and that is where they have both remained. See:

    To All Bonjour,

Just got an email from Antelec, confirming that RFO (France Television) is working to fix the subtitles function and trying to resolve this problem as soon as possible.

    So we must be patient..............

    All the best

Bonjour Michell, (Bonsoir if you read this on or after 5pm),

Thanks for posting that info. I will be interested to know when the issue is resolved.

I've been reading the European forums about what the French Broadcasters provide. That is the difference between the Satellite feeds for France itself, Terrestrial Broadcasts and what is available outside of France. Internally (both Satellite & Terrestrial) they provide both French & English subtitles. Outside of France they don't even if getting feed off the same Satellite and using same decoder as in France. Seems to depend where the decoder and service is registered by the users. I'm talking Europe here not the French Territories. I don't know about those areas.

Regarding my subtitles issue with TF1. The button that works for TF1 on the Pace, doesn't work for subtitles on France 2 etc. So CanalSat are using something special. I've read on the European forums that you need to find the right button combination that will show the subtitles on other decoders. How you work that out I'm not sure. I don't know why they would use something different to everything. I couldn't find a button on the Pace decoder to get France 2 etc subtitles. What a joke this is!

Anyway I guess I might have to email TF1 or CanalSat and ask them about it.

    Cheers

    Bonjour Michell,

You can get the details in this PDF which Antelec sent me with my invoice for the Simba:

They are going to 11155 H 28588 SR.

I posted this info here in the Intelsat 18 thread:

Looks like the FTV channels are moving on 23/11/11.

Here is a copy of the instructions if anyone needs them.

One other point which I also posted in the Intelsat 18 thread here:

LBF are advising their subscribers about a change needed for their service for France Ô, Nouvelle Calédonie 1čre, Wallis et Futuna 1čre, France 24 etc. and Radio services.

I noticed it is also on the CanalPlus Caledonie web site under section called Operation SAT + Suivez Le Guide (Follow the Guide). See:

I guess this might not interested a lot of you, but I thought I would post this info anyway.

    Cheers

Looks like most of the channels from 701 have now moved to Intelsat 18 this morning. Definitely stronger signal now. The recently unencrypted channels are now scrambled leaving only the usual free ones France 24, Contribution N Caledonie and Contribution Polynesie.

There is a feed to channel nine Australia (Today Show) called NNN906 at 11514 V 6111
pid 300/1010/8189 at the moment. The guy was interviewing a local about how she watches the Today Show in New Caledonia via her illegal satellite setup LOL.

    83% Signal Strength on 11075 (H) 45000 SR
    87% Signal Strength on 11155 (H) 28590 SR
    80% Signal Strength on 11510 (H) 6111 SR

Yes you did. Michell reported at the end of this post here, that the FTA on IS-701 were all viewed and not scrambled from Saturday morning. See:

I found this to be true when I checked myself on Sunday afternoon.

I didn't read that correctly. You are right!!! France2, France 3, France 4, France 5 & Arte are all viewed now and not scrambled. Must be something to do with the move to Intelsat 18 perhaps. If not I've just wasted $560 buying a Simba with Smart Access card. The signal strength on 11172 H hasn't increased. See:

So I'm guessing that it's still on Intelsat 701. The change isn't meant to happen until 23rd Nov as detailed here:

    Cheers!

I thought it very strange they removed all the encryption and all those channels were unencrypted. Anyway they were scrambled again shortly after that. Most likely someone stuffed up I guess. They were scrambled still when moved to IS-18.

Yes I was surprised and actually missed what Michell said the first time I read his post. But I reread it and thought I'll check. Sure enough I could access France2, France 3, France 4, France 5 & Arte without any problems. Anyway it didn't last which is what I thought.

Anyway you should have a lot more signal strength now on on 11155 (H) 28590 SR.

    Cheers

LyngSat have updated their site for Intelsat 18 now to reflect the recent changes. See:

Not a lot left on Intelsat 701 now. Most of it has been moved over to Intelsat 18.

    Cheers!

Is there anything good on the contribution channels? Also, are they mpeg4?

I am keen to have a look, but that means roof climbing and / or a new decoder.
