Default Nuvi 1350 - more maps on sd micro how?

I have a 1350 preloaded with the new Aus & NZ Nt 2011.20 gmapprom image and have placed on the micro sd card the latest unlocked open source NZ map image gmapsupp.
I have also tried renaming it gmapprom1 - the unit does not see it in either naming.
(when the image gmapprom1 was saved into the system folder it would see it as gmapsupp it would not).
Is it possible to get the unit to recognise the map on the sd card?
it would be nice as each week a new map image is produced unlocked which should contain any new additions, which is great as the loaded map hasn't got some of the new motorway etc..
    Any advise really appreciated.
    Thanx
    bill

you should be able to name them gmapsupp2.img etc, but it seems not with all GPS'

Those open GPS maps are great. I have that one, and the official one on my phone (Garmin Mobile XT)

    Thanks,
I downloaded the MapInstall program and the mapsource zip form the opengps site and then used it to put a gmappsupp image into the Garmin.
IT created a "Map" folder which contained part of an image.
I then download the complete NZ image from the cross platform section and got the latest 12 November map. This was then copied to the "Map" folder in the Garmin directory previously created by MapInstall. Then I deselected the Aus & NZ Nt 2011.20 map from the tools menu - map - info - and yeah i have an NZ map so up to date. Best part is these maps are updated each week. Great knowing you are travelling on a road and not an Ur9.
Wonder if they do an open source map for Australia - now that would be a bonus.
