i guess ideally you want the fastest d/l speed (this inc uploads) and the lowest latency (ping time)
I don't know if this post is in the correct area, we have been playing around with 4 different adsl modems, all have different ping and also different download speed from the same test site so which is better a lower ping or faster download speed? The modems with higher ping have a lower download speed

If you feed ducks at a pond, chances are your bound to feed a goose or two without even knowing it.
yes correct, we found ping was from 17 to 32ms and the DL speed was 9.22 to 11.98MB/S that's 2.76MB/s the diff and that's a lot
with those ping times.... i would not worry....
should be said, that test sites are just that, a rough idea, sounds like you have done everything right with your testing (averages) to be honest I would not have thought the difference between 17-32 made that much difference. their is many other factors affecting the results, what's happening at your end, what's happening at there end, hardware/software/network/time of day/line noise yada yada yada
having said that Gamers want least latency most of the time.
edit: there are more than a few network gurus on here, so hopefully they will offer more advice.
