    Default Al-Jazeera on C1

I'm having trouble setting up Al-Jazeera on C1. I'm using an Octagon 518 receiver, I did a blindscan but it didn't pick up 12367V. I tried to manually scan 12367V but no channels came up. I know I have to manually enter in the PIDs but I'm struggling to work out how to do it.

Any help would be much appreciated

Ok I did a bit of homework and found out that ABC Goldfields-Esperance was on the same transponder as AlJazeera. So on the 518 I flicked through the the radio EPG until I came across the ABC Goldfields and when I found it I checked out what frequency it was on.

On the 518 it came up that it was on 12267V, according to Lyngsat it should be on 12367. Anyway I punched in the PID info for AlJazeera on 12267V and it came up.

I'm thinking that my receiver is displaying the frequencies 100Mhz less then what it should be. Has this happened to anybody else? What would cause this?

I havent checked the frequencies on my Strong, but Lyngsat has been known to make typo errors.

Some units can be off after a blind scam but i dont think theyed be off by 100mhz.

Did you find all the locked foxtel channels too on that frequency?

Yeah they did show, every transponder appears to be 100Mhz lower then what it should be. Not really an issue now, but it was bloody annoying.

Most likely your Octagon LNB settings are 100Mhz out.
Rectify it and everything will fall in place

What do you mean by the LNB setting is 100Mhz out?

Access your LNB configuration settings and report here. I don't have the octagon receiver, so wouldn't know which page are they on.
The idea is simple, check your LNB settings and then your physical LNB for LO frequencies. I bet you have them different by 100Mhz.

12367 is accurate and in this matter so is Lyngsat.

Yeah my LNB high setting was 10.6 instead of 10.7, when I changed it to 10700 the AlJazeera transponder was 12366. So I increased it to 10701 did another blind scan and everything lined up. Is this just normal variation on the LNB??

Perfectly normal, I would suggest leaving your LNB setting at 10.7.
