Default IGO GPS on China in-dash Unit problems

    Hi,
I just purchased in-dash GPS DVD unit for my Honda CRV 2009.

Everything is working except IGO GPS.
After few minutes of work I am getting voice message "GPS disconnected" and GPS screen is "freezed". I cant push any button on GPS unless I reboot unit.

AT the beginning I thought the problem is SD card. So I copied files to other one, same results.
I thought the problem is GPS signal. Took antenna and moved it over different locations. Same story.
I really hope the issue is software and not hardware. Will appreciate any advice what to do in order to resolve situation.

    Tnx

Don't worry, most likely to be software NOT hardware - BUT you don't give enough details - what version of Primo - where did you get it????

First off , try getting another data and branding zip and see how that goes (and don't forget to delete the save folder).

    Hi,
This is Chinese GPS DVD in-dash unit. looks like it is IGO 8.0.0.29000. Resolution 800X480.

The unit is working few minutes, than I am getting voice message "GPS disconnected" and all is freezed. Reboot of unit is required.

    Below sys.txt.
branding.zip and data.zip are big files. What do I need from them (what info?)

Any suggestions? How to upgrade, fix? any steps? Everything is now on SD card coming with unit.
    Tnx again for all help

Default IGO GPS on China in-dash Unit problems

Hi there, how you getting on with the GPS on your Chinese unit? The version you have quoted is very old but should still work.
Have you read up Hollowman's post on this forum? Very helpful. You should be able to download a much later version here too.
I have a Chinese 2DIN unit myself and have upgraded the original software to IGO Primo with out any problems. You should keep an exact copy backup of what came with the unit though. Good luck and don't give up.

Maybe SD problem, change another SD card, see how it goes.

Have a look at the crash.txt file in the igo8 folder and see if it is recording any problems.

    cheers

You may have an issue with the gps aerial not getting strong signal?
Or the baud rate is not correcte. Sometimes diff rates work but not properly.
    What is yours set too?
