    0 to 100 in 3.5 seconds? Pffft

    That not a Golf.

    This is a Golf

These days having 650hp on track days is chicken feed.

Must say the Golf in your link looks sexy for a factory car even if its not that quick.

Ok, now let me go find this stuff, when i was trying to make an Audi 1.8T go fast, i came across a guy with a 900Hp VW Golf on a dyno... the thing was mad!!! I'll try and find the old info

Actually, i just watched your link global, thats the bloke!! Geez, thats was 4 or 5 years ago when i saw it, it was just on a dyno. I'd never seen it on the track.... you should see the owner, the biggest nerdy dork you have ever seen

Here is another link, but somewhere i have pics of this thing

Hey oceanboy thats the same car that i mega uploaded.

I have the whole collection of its trackday clips.

The inboard shots are typical of a 4wd turbo on track.

Getting the power down even with 4wd is a challenge when its turbo'd with enough boost.

Yeah, thats what i was saying global, it's the same bloke/car. But i had only seen the build and the Dyno day, i don't think he had given it a track day back then.... woohoo, the thing is mental
Bring on the massive understeer i say
Dahlback also had a kit for the Audi RS4 which turned it into a monster.... but at a monster cost too

Nothing better than getting on the power a little too early and hard in a 4wd turbo in anger.
The reactions of passengers on test runs are priceless, the cars reaction is quite violent.
Some friends first time on track in mine were priceless. One just kept yelling F##K!,F##K!,F##k! for a whole lap, another when entering the first corner yelled OHHHHHH SHIT! like he was gonna die and another complained for a whole week about his whip lash. Poor buggers

Heres one more, an inboard of that Golf, while your "wet".

    Enjoy

The limit of all these high hp 4wd cars are the tires, the drivers balls and the drivers brains.

Very easy to get it all wrong in a blink of an eye at those speeds.

The last track day that i didnt attend one guy came out of the esses at Winton in his R34 GTR, got on the power a little too soon, started his 4wd slide and didnt bring it back while twitching (front and back slideing in diffrent directions and swapping directions at the same time). The twitching you can see in the clip when the drivers fighting the wheel back and forwards.
He ended straight into the wall, total write off.
    Lucky he just walked away.

Farking hell global... yeah that is a whole new ball game. I had it happen once or twice in the Subura, but never at high speed... when it happens it mucks with your head, it all feels so strange, all wheels spinning, yet somehow steerable, but at all reacts faster than your brain can process it, and your just waiting for this almighty grab and launch in the wrong direction....

That VW is just on a knifes edge half the time

    You think thats bad.

The Gtrs have rear wheel steering, designed to work above 80 kmh.
When you turn left your back wheels turn right when you enter a corner.
When you power out and the car breaks into 4 wheel wheel spin the back wheels turn left.

    Think about it.

They turn right to kill the understeer when entering a left corner and give some oversteer.
They turn left when powering out to fight the oversteer slide when powering out.

Many people disconnect and lock the rear wheel steering.
Im a pureist, its the way the car was designed for the track and was put there for a purpose so i refuse to disconnect it.

It feels really unnerving to most people having a cars rear moving more than usual at high speed.

Must be my younger years rally driving in rearwheel drives that has me comfortable in it, loose at high speed.

Evo's are a good choise, they are so full of technology that people say they drive themselves when things go wrong.

Did you feel the g force rush under acceleration?

Ha Ha try that in a race worked RB26 with enough hp to wheel spin all 4 wheels right up to 190 kmh in 3rd/ 4th. The irony for me was i fitted 10 inch wide rubber (255's) to try to stop it and it made no diffrence.

The evos were getting out of the way in a hurry.....

Righto Global... time for you to bring his puppy down the Great Ocean Road and lets have a play
Although if its wet, i'll watch from behind the armaco mate

Actually i blew my Subura up one night after passing an R34 at night.... too much spent watching my mirrors and the road, not enough time spent watching what gear i was in.... 150k's in second for long periods makes oil pressure drop, all dash lights come on and a horrible death rattle from the engine bay

    150 kmh in second?

No wonder you blew it up lol.

My Gtr is 135 kmh at 9250 rpm in second to third shift point!

    And shes all forged internals.

What were you doing 12000 rpm? roflmao

Ah now you know what a shift light is for.

Hint; use your ears to know your shift point, it should come natural to you with practice.

Yeah great ocean road, black spur and dandy mountain are my roads of choise.
Dandenong mountain is my favorite, devils elbow up hill in particular.
Pity they fixed the corner a few years ago, it was so much more exciting in the 80's.

I tried to upload a vid of my first time, first lap but the vid is too big. Looks like i have to find a video editing sofware to reduce it in size.

In the mean time here are some youtube clips i have bookmarker that best explain a HKS R32 GTR and are very similar to mine.

This one is the closest in set up but better built, handling and brakes.
Mine has twin HKS 2540 high flowed turbos rated at over 400 hp each so i have far more power with lag compared to it.

This one is the opposite again, it has more power but worse track handling. Its basicly set up for drag, im not. His turbos rated at 1000 hp, mine at a lttle over 800 hp.

And last is a funny one, an Arab (not leb) in a HKS again, but setup in rearwheel drive mode.

Ill try and shrink my first lap ASAP and post it when i find some software.

Here is a clip of my cousins VL Calais at WSID.

At the time it was the Quickest SOHC untubbed VL in Australia.

The V8 ute had a two second giddy up.
