    Default Vast with dreambox's

    Hi,

The last 5 years or so I have been a member of Austech.

I use to have time to sit and read most posts but now days my business is very hectic and I dont have as much time as I would like for forums and the like to take in the latest info. I get on the forums once a month if I am lucky.

I have a few dreambox 7000's sitting around, 1 laying idle.

Can anyone enlighten me if its possible to get an image that will handle I2 v5.7 (namely vast) as my area is the last to switch over.

Another post on this forum said that the new oscam will achieve my goal. ?

Any help will be much appreciated.

I have a new UEC box and crd.

as far as I'm aware, VAST card will only work in the box in which they came. I have tried many things including oscam which do not work. I would love to know if any emu's will handle a VAST card myself so if anybody has any knowledge, please let us know

Nothing available to my knowledge. The difficulty will be caused by the marrying of the box to the card and control word encryption. A real pain.

Nor are there any pvr capable boxes certified for use with VAST

I don't see marying an issue but you say CW encryption? Is it different to Austar?

    Thanks for the replies.

I know a blue fox sub card works fine in some images like Gemini's and that is meant to be tied to the orig box.

    Cheers.

On a positive note - over time I can't imagine that VAST, being basically a government bureaucracy, will have large amounts of resources to deploy blockage technologies that say Austar uses. Seem to recall that when Aurora first arrived on the scene, the authorised box was a UEC but over time with new third party boxes and cam versions the whole thing freed up.

Austar cards are married to boxes, Fox is not. But Austar cards work in third party receivers now so the marrying part is likely not the issue.

You would have to read the brief UEC was given to qualify to be the supplier of the VAST stb's.
From the postings here my understanding was that the prime requirement was that the Card/STB were not to function in any manner when seperated.
I would think UEC would have the technical expertise to meet this requirement otherwise they would look bloody stupid as well as losing a huge amount of business if their systems were breached by some 'BackYarder'.
I am rather curious about Sanity's post that Austar cards could be used in a 3rd party stb as I thought only Fox cards allowed that in specific units.
I stand unequivicably behind everything I say , I just dont ever remember saying it !!

I replied to your other thread on this... you only need one!

If you find a solution to decoding VAST on another box, please let us know!

Why don't you ask the person that posted all the Dreambox screenshot images in this thread instead of creating multiple new threads!:

Firstly, I didn't 'create' the threads.

Secondly, those screenshots you linked to are in a post that says they were captured whilst VAST was testing... unencrypted. There was no suggestion in that post that a dreambox can decode the 'encrypted' VAST transmissions.

Sorry, I wasn't referring to you but the thread creator.

Well just wait until they become FTA again to use your dreambox ;-)
