Default Are we allowed to ......

If I get a 2.5-3.0kw grid feed solar installion now, and some time in the future expand it to 5kw would I be eligable for the power company to buy the extra power. Or does this government rebate stuff the we get now lock us in.

At present I have roof space for 2.5kw, some time in the future I am getting a large shed put in the yard and would like to add more panels to another inverter (or if the first inverter has a 2nd input then us that).

Panels are getting cheaper (for now), and while I can afford a 5kw system now I just don't have usable space for it. So I thought about getting the best I can for now and adding later.

Does the power company care if I have a 2.5kw system and in say 12 months time start dumping 5kw into the grid or will they kick up a stinky?.

Sure mate nothing stopping you increasing the size as long as you get approval from your supplier first , you can't just add to it without informing them unless you are just adding a panel or 2.
Best to get the 2.5kw system now and when you are ready add a another system in parallel , by the time you are ready if even only 12 months away you can be certain prices will be lower .

In WA the maximum we are allowed in 5kw , in some states it's up to 10kw , but that's not a guarantee it will be approved.
