An interesting pre-trial review coming up at Bankstown on the 10th Feb.

Godzilla (02-02-12)
No I couldn't go - currently having medical treatment - can't go on Friday either. However I have someone who may be able to go in my place.
Also spoke to a friend who used to be in the police force (fraud area) who advised that; even amounts of $10k are too small for the Fraud detectives to look into. If it was a big enough case, the case then goes before a panel to decide if it will be investigated or not. So even still - the Fraud area does not automatically investigate.
I told them that several of us had tried to contact Fairfield police who was handling the case - without any success.
They advised that each station has a Crime Manager (who is in charge of the detectives), you should ask to speak to them - they are the ones who should be contacted if you are not having any success. Tell them about the case and any evidence and that you want it recorded as an event and investigated.
Try, try again.
Also forgot to mention - yet another criminal mention date at Bankstown, this time 15th Feb, same case numbers as on the 1st Feb.

What a load of BS. Next you'll tell us if someone is murdered and if they aren't high profile then the police will do nothing.
I've got paperwork and seen cratefuls of paperwork to say what, you are saying is the steamiest crap, I've read. I've been to court over a $100 bike a $200 laptop, a $120 mobile phone and this is because the losers are pleading not guilty.
It's all about building a case. If the cops didn't care about small frauds under 10K it would be open slather.
I think you've mis-understood what I was saying. I was referring to the actual Fraud Squad - not your everyday police person/detectives. I'm not saying the police won't touch it or do something about it. The person I spoke to just said that the Fraud Squad would not be the area that would investigate it. The Fraud Squad is set up to fry bigger fish.
I was using the $10k as reference to someone earlier in this thread who said that M Munday owes him over $10k.
If the case is not deemed to be appropriate for the Fraud team to investigate/allocate resources to then it would be handled by non specialist police. I didn't say it wouldn't be investigated at all.
Yes it is about building a case - pretty hard to do though if the police won't return calls to get the facts/evidence in the first place.
Bingo! What I've been saying for years. It's about getting finding or moving onto the right Detective when it comes to the criminal side of this kind of matter (as opposed to the civil). It's about luck &/or persistence or a combination of both - and even then you're not guaranteed an outcome that will provide any satisfaction but at least you're in the game.
Hmmmmm Michael Munday Vs his brother on the 10th hey..... Interesting
Hopefully at the end of that case, there will be a few assualt cases as well.
I don't really care, but I'm suprised Munday is still walking after all the people he has ripped off.
I was hoping that the brothers had a good old punch up and both knocked the shit out of each other.
Nope,
Do you know the outcomes of any of these cases?

Yeah, Agreed - I thought that was unfair to the brother as well.
So what were the charges and what was the result of him being a no show?
