I've got one of these cheapo one's, and it's fun at the shops with one...especially when someone is getting shown their new lcd or plasma by the salesperson......lol
When I first got it I was turning screens off everywhere.
If I could find one of these (cheapy) I would be sooooo tempted to go around David Jones and Myer (especially in summer when everyone sits in there and watches TV) and turn them all off like they did.
The guys from Gizmodo used TV-B-Gone kits to turn off TVs throughout CES.

I have one as well. The best fun is to walk around the Foxtel stands in the shopping centers and turn the tv's of one after the other. It works best with two people.Another good one is the tv's they use as security monitors as you walk into Big W or Target etc.Heaps 'o' fun can be had in a shopping centre with one of those..

Nah....that's old stuff, my kids had Casio watches that used to do all that.
At school they used to change channels and the teachers took ages to work it out.
I liked it at the pub when the footy was on, just at time on in the last quarter...
When the missus complained about it being too cold it worked on the Fujitsu air con at the pub...
You can get these for next to nothing off Deal Extreme in all sorts of shapes and sizes.
They will wise up to it soon and start putting black tape over the IR port when they set up displays like this.
Ruin it for everybody.
I have had one on a keyring for quite a while and you can cause choas with them. Everytime I have a doctor or specilaist appointment I change all their channels and turn it off when I leave
As soon as all my mates saw them they wanted one so I just grabbed some off deal extreme
I one I have is black and I havent found a TV it doesnt work with yet , so I ordered the same ones.
Mine works is brilliant fashion when waiting hours in hospital waiting rooms.
"Patients are not to operate TV controls" .....pig's arse ! Kill that bloody Sesame Street or Daze of Our Lives.
Best gadget EVER !
I was in a stupid mood one day, and thought I'd drop into the TAB and have a bit of fun on a Saturday afternoon...
Then fear struck......I shuffled out without trying.....boys become upset when money is also at stake...
We'll have to see what we can turn off, post where we did it, and guage by concensus who is on the leaderboard of the "best turn off"...
Having said that...I'm not ready to upset the punters yet !!!..lol
I guess an airport departure board would be fun...
Grand final day in the pub would be a brave thing to do LOL
When you do things right, people won't be sure that you have done anything at all
Tv's I have turned off.
Multiple set's in tv department of kmart,Jb Hifi etc
Security monitors.ie: the ones above your head as you walk into Big W.It is a pissa watching them try to turn them back on.
The Foxtel stands in Shopping Centre's.Two people is best for this one. Each person gets 2 tv's.Then by the time you go and get all the other tv's in the shops the foxtel monkeys should have the tv's back on ready for round two.
Long range hits are the most satisfying.Westfield Doncaster have tv's running in their food court.Great fun sitting there eating and killing tellies at the same time.
I have been thinking about modding one to have a stronger output....ie:longer range.

Nothing comes close to my cell phone jammer for fun.
(thank you deals-xtreme.)
Especuially on public transport.....silence is bliss.
Thanks for the very QUICK reply Z80 , i'll think about getting one of these units soon, can't wait to try it in the morning traffic on the way to work etc.
I see these generation 3 TV-Be-Gone only have on off, no channel changing like the original units, i may have to search for a generation 2 unit ?
Doesn't work real good in cars unless you're right along side.
You need the big version for that .
But trams trains and buses are great.
my evil plan (besides taking over the world) was to use one of these at a melbourne cup lunch where they have the race on the big screen and turn off just before the race so u could watch the panic. i wouldnt do while the race was on though co i am not that naughty (well i used to be)
has anyone ever used the infra red jammer from jaycar? throw that into the equation might be some extra fun too.
cheers
