This may give some clues,
Is it possible to defeat the old poxtel firmware on these boxes. I know it's old news to most of you guys here but I only just found out that they have defeated the channel stacking option. It only allows one banquet at a time, in order to change you have to do a rescan. Is there a solution? Or has my research let me down?

This may give some clues,
Nah, the option of "signal setup 2,3,4" etc has been disabled. I assume in a over the air "upgrade", probably around the same time as the demise of the goldie.
Oh well, that's it then.
UEC firmware aint available. They locked that one down well
PS They're bouquets btw
Ohh...that's new???
Perhaps if he set it to factory defaul and tried it again?...just a suggestion...you would have to reset the lnb and everything again though...might work?
Banquets?
Ah well, lesson learned! Steer clear of UEC, especially if it was once a proprietary box.
Can't understand why still get big prices 2nd hand
From memory if you didnt get the last firmware update and you had 2.10 or lower firmware then the box would hang on "waiting for nit"
Yes, it is a fox box. But it is now pointed at the aurora service.....I tried doing an over the air upgrade but they mustn't be transmitting it anymore. Does it have to be on the aurora tuning channel to rx their upgrade.
it won't upgrade on aurora stream, wrong signature.......
you are stuck with using it on either aurora or austar, one at a time.
It is the old fox boxes i am talking about , if your box still had scell 2.10 or 2.09 cant remember which one you would still have channel stacking but would have the waiting for nit, if you had the new fox firmware scell 2.26 from memory then no more channel stacking and no waiting for nit prob
There was away to force an update if the update was in the air, it was something like Power, tv/radio, channel-up, channel down, tv/radio, been to long since i have played with provider boxes
I can input the details, the problem is it's only one or the other. There is no option for signal 2,3 etc.
I want both, just change card when I'm on the appropriate channel. It works in my hummy due to the blind scan function. If I input a fox freq, I will get about 3 or 4 channels because it doesn't go looking for for the other channels.
If you want all the channels for austar can't you use the option in the main menu called “channel arrangement” which when selected gives you “search service names” which will scan all the austar channels?.
In mine [an aurora box] this works well but I don't know if that menu is present in the firmware on the fox box.
Nah, that option doesn't appear in mine, I guess it's the firmware. Nevermind, I'll just buy another hummy.
