    Default Firefox problem, maybe ?

Not sure if its firefox thats the problem or win xp but firefox keeps crashing and i have to use task manager to shut it down . Also when i click on a radio button on a website to say enlarge and image (jaycar website for example) nothing happens, this happens on most websites i try. I have installed all the updates to flashplayer and java and even uninstalled rebooted and re installed to no avail. Last resort was system restore back to the earliest date possible 4 months ago but no change. I'm running win xp sp3 and other wise my pc is running fine.

I don't know about the other problems but when you enlarge an image on some sites, Jaycar in particular, the enlarged image is displayed in a popup window. By default, Firefox blocks popups. You can change this or specify exceptions from the Firefox menu under "Tools", "Options", "Content".

I couldn't get Google Street View to work in Firefox until I specified maps.google.com as a popup exception (plus a couple of other google map addresses).

if you can not find a fix.

maybe uninstall FF, reboot, install older FF version (not to old), then update it to newer version. i seem to recall having the same problem once...

I pretty much disabled Java and it seemed to fix similar problem on mine.

Javascript sill works, and I have found very few issues with having it disabled.

Highly suggest it would be a good move to install Chrome, as heaps better alternative than IE! That way you can test to see if this is Firefox related, or something shared like java etc. Other browser option is Opera; have all 3 installed on my Ubuntu notebook - handy when something doesn't play nice in one browser to test in another to see if it’s particular to choice of web browser being used.

Not attempting to start a flame war, but I am still a Firefox advocate, even after dabbling in Chrome and Opera for a small time, as keep migrating back to the comfort of Firefox! Choice of web browser really comes down to the intricacies and how much effort you have put into setting up the browser, as for example, recently did some basic tweaks to Firefox and was like I had a new computer

I updated to Firefox 4 beta about a month ago and it was a huge improvement, now i have migrated to Win7 and have Firefox 4.0 RC and everything is working as it should.

Have seen the rare issue with some clients computers, uninstall, then remove all directories / files related to firefox left behind ( remember to backup your bookmarks file ), then reboot, reinstall, and then get latest Adobe flash and Jave, - all should be resolved
