Default Default program on W7 problem

Can someone help me solve-out W7 problem. Yesterday, i tried change open default program, after that all the shortcut icons on desktop change to default whatever i selected, then i can not open own program (ex: when i select open default by notepad then try open Microsoft outlook, its open with notepad and can not read email or whatever other programs still same problem), tried run system restore, but system restore can not start, try boot to safe mode still does not help. Think virus effect but did not, disable or uninstall virus program still same problem. All the extention .exe files will change to default open program when i selected, any help thanks in advance.

    Regards
    Joe.

Hi laogia was it the link I posted in the other thread that fixed it.

Each shortcut right click and goto the shortcut tab then open the "open File location" tab and find the exe.

No worries laogia. I'm not sure about that .ink problem but I'll have a look into it for you.

This might fix your .ink fault have a read and see. I haven't tried it as I don't have any issues.

It is a Vista fix but a few of the responses say it works for windows 7 also.

EDIT WARNING might pay to "back up your registry" if you decide to try it ok.
