It's probably a firmware upgrade for their current receiver. If not it should be!

I really hope it is...makes a big difference between the one now, and a pvr one. As you say, hopefully firmware would upgrade the usb slot on it now?

Doesn't matter how they sugar-coat it... it will still be a UEC POS.

so my hope that it might be a twin tuner with a hard drive at a reasonable cost is probably not going to happen.

    From UEC?.. I doubt it.

Most likely it will allow you to plug in a USB key/drive for storage.

Just had confirmed VAST cards working in UltraPlus 980HD and F-9000 receivers with MCAS plugin. I didn't try this the other week as I just assumed they didn't work! How silly of me

I don't know as I don't have one but I'd be trying with the last fw version.

Aparently the kappa cards on some Asiasat4 services were already working with current version of MCAS.

Does this mean that these cards have been activated for the full service in a VAST box and then used in the ultraplus or activated in the ultraplus.

Of course. Side by side 3D transmission can be passed through all regular SD and HD channel transmissions. It's the final TV display that converts the side by side image into 3D.

I've just received the following message from my UEC current receiver supplier:

These are PVR ready, they just need a SW upgrade over the air and they will do that next year. It will be the same box.
