Understood. I have two very large satellite dishes here already and will use them in preference to the toys Austar left behind.

The non-PVR remote isn't paired, so it can be used on other UEC VAST decoders of the same model at least.... haven't had the opportunity to test one on a new PVR dual tuner box.
I don't think that it is likely to be paired. From memory the remote unit comes with a code that when entered on the web gives an unlock code for the main unit but this does not mean that it is "paired". I haven't tried myself but I am willing to bet that any pvr remote will work with any 4121 that has had the pvr activation.

correct, the activation code just activates the firmware on the stb.
any pvr remote will work with any pvr enabled box, or with any uec vast box without the pvr firmware.

the original non pvr remote will also work, but obviously will not operate any of the new pvr functions...

The Standard remote will work with PVR or Non-PVR activated STB's, (without the PVR functionality & buttons of course)

& The PVR remote will work with any other PVR Activated STB's ......

But the PVR remote has limited working on Standard STB's ATM...... (channel buttons & a couple of others I think)

I remember, The last firmware upgrade, I had to go looking for the Standard remote control, to do something on the Non-PVR activated STB

I believe UEC is working on making the PVR remote fully work with the Standard STB's

Also the Standard Remote has an "ALT" button to go back to the previous channel you were watching .... I don't think the PVR remote has this button or function .....

& the standard Remote also has a "shift" button & a "Language" button that as far as I know have no function assigned ATM

To go to the previous channel with the pvr remote press "BACK".

The new UEC-RV 12v decoder is being replaced by the UEC-RV PVR Ready. It comes with an activated recording remote. User must supply USB recording device. I am told it (should) retail for the same $ as previous std models.

    Purchased at for $594.95 + $20 freight.

It is a little more expensive than the UEC but if, as expected, a VAST clone of their FTA PVR, it is the most ergonomic one presently available.

I'll post up when it arrives next week.

Not sure what your asking, but if you mean can VAST be received in Indonesia, yes, but depending where you are and if you have a big enough solid dish.

Naturally, you'd need a VAST decoder and a card that was activated with an Australian address.

what's bpl all game? You need to make sure you can see the VAST transponders first before ordering a receiver.

    And noted on that page:

Please note VAST CAMs are to be used in professional decoders only and not in domestic set top boxes.
