Default Accessing Dreambox though a remote router?

    Hey Guys,

Is it possible to access a dreambox from a remote router?
ie I can access my parents router from my house over HTTP but can i access and device that is connected to the router, such as another router or the dreambox?

    Cheers

Port forward port 21 on your parents modem and then use a ftp program to gain access to the dreambox via their external internet ip.

I get this when i try to port forward port 21

"Since port 21 is used, the DSL router
FTP server port will be moved to 2121."

Also is it meant to be forwarding on my local Ip ie 192.168.1.2
or my actual Ip 203.395.34.123 (not my actual one)??

Looks like port 21 is already forwarded by something, you better check that.

You need to forward the port to your local ip of the dreambox.

    So
e.g. example ip's dont use them

PC your on now has a local ip of: 192.168.1.100

Dreambox has a local ip of: 192.168.1.101 - this is the one you want to port forward to 21 in the modem

Then when you are at a remote location (external from the local network) you use their external ip to gain access to the dreambox

Ok sortof get where your going but what would i enter in to get to the dreambox?

say 215.154.15.154 is my actual ip and my dreambox is 192.168.1.10 on my local ip

What some would do is setup a
DynDNS acount, something like " "
so when you type that into your web browser or your FTP program you should be able to acces your dream if you have set it up your port forwarding right

You download a ftp client like "cuteftp" then you put your external ip in it and connect and it should go to your dreambox if you have port forward port 21 pointing to your dreamboxes local ip.
