RKill
Just found this small Application which may help in the removal of serious Malware infections.
RKill just kills processes, imports a Registry file that removes incorrect file associations
and fixes policies that stop us from using certain tools.
When done, RKill will then create a log listing all processes that were terminated while the
program was running.
Since RKill only terminates processes, after running it you should not reboot your computer
as any malware processes that are set to start automatically, will just start up again.
This will give you back the ability to go into taskmanager if the Malware is blocking it,
also some Malware will partially run even when you try to get into safemode.
Once the processes are stopped you can run your existing anti-malware software to remove the problems.
RKill will need to be downloaded regularly as it doesn't have a autoupdate feature.
Posted is a link below for the actually website with download links.
I've tested this software on one Malware infected computer and it aided in fixing the computer in a shorter time.
EDIT:- Remember Malware removal is only as good as the removal software you use and this application is only for terminating the processes not removing them.

Look Here -> |
Thanks for that.
I saw that Bleeping computer website was advertising Dr.Cureit and Superantispyware.
are these actually legit packages? I seem to remember SuperAntiSpyware being just a huge Ad to purchase their product because it "found" hundreds of infections?

Hi porkop, They are i've used Dr.Cureit once it seemed ok but looking at VB it's not high on the list for detection. Not really sure about SuperAntiSpyware haven't used it in years.
I normally keep to the common ones like Microsoft Security Essentials, Spybot and Emsisoft.

Just a note with Rkill, sometimes you have to run it a few times as the actual virus/malware kills the program. You also have to be quick as well.
A good program to use just before Malwarebytes.

What's Emsisoft like?

It's good it finds a lot more than some of the other programs but you do have to be careful it will throw up a few false positives from time to time.
Emsisoft Emergency Kit is the version I usually use as you don't have to install it just put it on a USB stick. But the file is big and the first update is big. I wrote about this one once before.
