I have a newish (not a smart meter) installed at my place, it was changed over to make use of the solar feed in tariffs. I was looking at the time and date and realized that the time was incorrect (not adjusted correctly for Day Light Savings (DLS)).

As my billing is peak/off peak, 7am-11pm peak, this throws the time out by one hour, 11pm is actually 10pm according to the meter.

I rang up SP Ausnet meter faults department to tell them of the time issue. They said that there some "software compensation" for the DLS. After been hand-balled between departments I finally got onto a "Software Engineer" who said the time is not dynamically updated for DLS, so off peak is actually 00:00 till 08:00, not 23:00 till 07:00

So for everyone out there with a peak/off peak metering, if you are billed for dual rate energy, keep in mind that your off peak will start one hour later then described on your bill.
