Default UltraPlus F-9000, Switching Tuners, Remote recording for UltraPlau 980 - Help Please

    Hi All,

I recently brought a UltraPlus F-9000HD PVR and I am very happy with it.

However I cannot find any information in the manual that tells you how to switch the tuners.
For some reason when I am recording the unit switches to tuner 2, as displayed on the screen, but even after it has finished recording it is still on Tuner 2. And I cannot find a way to switch back to Tuner 1.

Why do I need to do this? Currently I only have 1 LNB setup and using the jumper cable from the output of Tuner 1 into the input for tuner 2.
I have Tuner 1 setup for the power to the LNB.
The unit is setup for FreeView + SBS, each use a different polarity, so if Tuner 1 is on either FreeView or SBS I can't watch any of the other channels if on a different/other polarity.

Any ideas would be gratefully received.
Any secret functions would be also grateful.

    Regards Kevin.

If you are able to also help with using the F-9000 as a remote recorder I'd like to hear from you.
I also have a UltraPlus 980 Micro in the bedroom, and have followed the information on setting up to allow the F-9000 to be a remote recorder, but this has not worked. The 980 does not see the F-9000.
Is there any in depth information on setting it up, I understand I can also use the card (installed) to play encrypted content as well on the 980?

    Sorry for all the questions.

You need to install a dual output LNB so each tuner has it's own independant connection. You'll then have no issues with selecting and watching H and V channels on the different tuners.

I haven't tried shaing the hdd on the 9000 to a 980 but you're supposes to be able to record to the 9000 (from the 980) and also watch recorded programs of the 9000 on the 980. I have to run up a 9000 tonight so I'll try and get this going for you.

Also I noticed there is new firmware for the 9000 on the freeview website ver 1.08.65.

    Cheers,
    Leroy

Switching tuners, if for example you have C band (motorized or not) on one tuner, and Ku (configured by however means) on the other:
    Press 'OK' on the remote, this brings up a menu vis;
    "A-Z / TP / Group / Tuner / CAS / Provider".

Then then press the 'RED' button (not 'record' button) until you see the existing word 'TUNER' highlighted in that thin menu bar.

You will see on the right pane the options "TUNER ALL", "TUNER 1", "TUNER 2". Choose which tuner you need for a given channel.

Left pane shows channels loaded for each tuner, so choose the desired channel and press OK! (Tuner All option only shows all loaded channels regardless of tuner used, but does not "choose" to change tuner as needed to view).

Pressing ok and scrolling to the tuner menu with the red button is the way.
