Wireless Keyboard/Mouse locking up PC
Have installed a new wireless keyboard and mouse, installed and works fine in XP. SHutdown the pc and it hangs at the BIOS screen, disconnect the usb receiver for the kb and mouse and then boots up, wait until get to logon prompt, plug ghe receiver back in, and kb and mouse works fine.
Why would it cause it to freeze at bios level, it will not start booting up until the receiver is taken out. Put a old ps/2 kb in, works fine.
Cheers

It could be a setting in the BIOS related to USB keyboard/mouse or even Legacy USB Storage.
The storage idea is that it is misreading the receiver for being a hdd and trying to get details but hanging when none come back. (A very far fetched idea but you never know).
Most likely it is due to the Enable USB keyboard/mouse settings. In my system, these just prevented the kb/mouse from working until windows has booted but i have seen it cause hangs in systems before.
