Hi all - I too seem to have all the VAST channels. I'm in North West Queensland. Just came back home from looking at Christmas light displays and everything is working on the decoder. Slight amount of pixels when changing channels. Once it locks in then everything is okay. My signal quality is only 27 to 33, so I may have to do some tweaking of the satellite dish tomorrow. I've heard that I should be getting in the mid 40s for signal quality.

I was not expecting to be activated until at least the weekend. I am quite impressed with how quickly I was activated - the same day. I hope everyone else experiences the same quick response.

What size dish are you using?

85cm+ would be recommended for your location.

Yes, it's only an 85cm dish. I'd like to have something larger, like 1.2m. However, the local planning laws in my small country town require planning permission for anything over 90cm. Yet, if I was in Brisbane city I would be allowed to have 1.2m. Doesn't really make sense to me. Also, the best place for dish is on the front of my north facing house. So anything really large would certainly be noticed from the road. I'm in a rental house so I am not keen on spending lots of money on permits for something that I don't own.

Now that I've been receiving the VAST programmes for a couple of hours, it seems to be settling down. Of course, when it gets cloudy / rainy I may lose channels. That is something I am prepared to live with for the moment. It is great to watch TV that isn't snowy and is in true widescreen format. I may actually be able to see the cricket ball on screen when watching the Ashes tomorrow.

For the moment I am extremely pleased that I have extra channels. With school holidays upon us my children will have some different TV to watch while in the air-con escaping the summer heat.

Go figure that one out. Anyway, you do realise that if you have the space you can get a ground mount solid and just prod it up anywhere with pegs or a sandbag or if you are in a high wind area use lateral strut wires. That way, when the time comes to move you can bring it with you without any fuss.

I don't know how old your kids are, but mine just started their vacation today and already Optus D1 (ABC 1,2,3 multiplied by 6 ... every time zone) is getting a good run. Another TV, a second Box and a cheap dish and you can have your own uninterrupted TV Nirvana.

Hi, I received no notification that my box was set to go. It was just like Leroy said. I turned the box on and there it was. So I am not sure why it is mandatory to provide an email address.

Lonegull, earlier in the week my bouquets also turned to just ABC and SBS. It happened about the same time I decided to upgrade the software over the air. My box is now running firmware from 29 November. Not sure if the two things were connected or not.

I understand the email address is required so they can contact you if there is a problem with your application...

I presume the requirement for a phone number is to assist in validating your name and address to the phone number you provide although that may not work if you just gave them a prepaid mobile number).

TV button still gives me all the bouquets - I set my box to Victoria - but I am getting annoyed the decoder reboots approx every hour and swithces the box to the ABC/SBS bouquet.

Still waiting for my service to be turned on, perhaps when it happens the box will stop the hourly reboots and switching the bouquet.

Signal strength on VAST in Far Nth Qld pathetic on a 90cm offset. Switched to the 1.2 and Signal Quality is only running at about 78%. Still not flash.

My box has now been enabled for all valid abc, sbs, and commercial channels.
abc and sbs a few days ago, commercials this afternoon

I am outside the presently confirmed areas, and used my proper home address details that were used for my blackspot Aurora smartcard information.

The bouquet menu's are now just one, as I reported elsewhere.

This is my best Xmas gift for years, and one that was a testy but difficult process, but now done.

    Quite unnecessary, Farmsky.

I think it's been there for a very long time already.

BTW... I see you've picked up on my 'dyslexia'......
