    Default wii general info...

since the forum is yet to be revamped , id thought id ask something.

Anyone here a wii genius ?!?

I have one , and want to install a modchip. No reason....just i want to install one.
Can anyone advise what is the best chip out there ?

Also , what file type does the wii store "bought" games on the main menu ? Are these simply relevant rom files with a wii header to be picked up via the software ?

    hey there

the serial is LAH1XXXXXXXXXXX. PRetty sure its a new model ( came with the new rubberised grip)

Anyway , what i refer to the "games" , is that will it be possible to upload my own software onto the Wii memory and use it in a separate channel ? (once "chipped" ? )

He'll need a bit more of the serial number than that ,all serials start like that in Oz.

and if it has a d2c chipset, your wiikey will only loot pretty as it wont do anything.

This is why I need the serial number to tell what chipset it has!

It is called Homebrew. The Wii can only run homebrew in GC mode (gamecube) at the moment. See my other thread in this forum called Wii Exploit for some info on it.

yep a D2C or Argon chip is what you will require!

D2Ckey is a better more stable chip
but the argon is upgradable.....so its features are not static.

Argon is only 13 wires, so it will be cheaper to install slightly....but the cost of the modchip itself, is a little most expensive.

P.S. You should never post your wii serial number in a forum (and mick, you should not quote it, hehe). I could use your serial number for a Nintendo promo if i wanted to (free remote jackets, etc).
All you need to determine the serial is LAH + the first 5 numbers.

Over LAH102160000 in Australia and you have a 99.99% chance of having a D2C chipset.

D2CKey more stable! The lower the wire count usually means less stability.
Argon's have had DRE from day 1.
