If you feed ducks at a pond, chances are your bound to feed a goose or two without even knowing it.

but just in the name of disclosure it should be said... will run it through some web checkers now.

I haven't had a chance to set it up yet but I found a review on Youtube from last year for it.

I would not rely on this or (zonealarm which this reminds me off) for malware protection
also it appear that this version, the asking for permission is less of an issue. I only briefly looked at it, their is an option to be notified on all.

Also I made a mistake an installed ID Vault (which I think must be there cloud component for saving passwords), I would not do this either

to early to tell if its any good - hell could be crap but at least its free and gives other an option to have a look at it edit: unless it ends up being just a false sense of protection -testing needed

    bit of feedback.

don't mind it. Even detects msg's from my switch to the iphone...(took a while to figure that out- assuming I am right ).. I'd say worth a look at.

also I like the fact that it detects firefox plugins.... for example I went to stream some music. and it popped up straight away... annoying? maybe, better too know than not.
(this machine is not online that much so would be interesting to see it on a daily basis)

some valid info in the firewall log/port tracking tabs

Hi z1gg33, Had you been using the previous version for a while or had you removed it to try something else. Just wondering because I was considering installing it on my xp laptop.

    Mick,

Kinda hard to explain.... I use it on a machine that is not online all that often (it used to be online) but I swapped it out for drives with Linux on it. So now the machine runs linux (100% online 24/7) and when needed I swap drives out to windows. Its a messy situation and I only do it this way as I am yet to mount the NTFS drives....

I will be trying this out on another machine - just for a look. (I am only interested in the firewall part) the rest I'll leave other Apps to do.

From memory, Its not for everyone, some will find it annoying, I think you fall into either I want to know whats going on, or I don't mind NOT knowing. and full disclosure I DO recall switching it off at times.

Perhaps this newer version will be less intrusive/demanding. Only one way to find out, and thats give it a go....

Hi z1gg33, thanks for the info mate. Why don't you just install windows via a virtual box in linux then you wouldn't have to worry about swapping etc.

EDIT found a copy of comodo internet security pro free 1yr i've just installed to check out.
