    Do you have iGO8 loaded?

If so you just rename old map (or save it to a new folder,) and copy new in.

Device has IGO8. I tried copying new maps to device but they do not work, that is maps do not appear on screen and australia is not available as address

What version of iGO8? Go to settings, about. Shows system and maps.
    What map did you try?
Did it run initially with the map supplied?

It looks like a complicated process to update maps on that unit.

Can you acess the directory where the maps are stored on the SD card?
Did you download a copy of map thru here or from the link with unit?

Can you post up the directory structure of the SD card?

    Talking

When I go to SETTINGS-ABOUT it says Eclipse navigation software version 8.3.2.79881 copyright 2008 Nav N Go

Unit is fitted to new Nissan Xtrail (comes with car)

I copied maps downloaded through here, tried both sensis r17 and navteq 2010 q3.

Maps on device are Navteq 2009 q4.

Latest maps available through eclipse are the Navteq 2009 q4.

    Directory of backup is

I am not game to try installing 8.3.4.142975 Igo software in case I cannot restore original if it fails. SD card only accessed by unit from within software settings screen. There is an update button on one odf the screens which takes you to a seperate screen to copy data to and from SD card or to backup or restore unit.

Thanks for your Help so far

Im guessing the maps in the map directory under content.?

8.3.2 should be ok with later maps?

Can you copy directly to the map directory in the unit?
To test see if you can rename the orig map, or see if you can move the backup back.

You will not be able to get your downloaded maps to work without using a hacked version of iGO with a hacked license file. The only way you can update your maps using your existing software is by using official updates for your device if available.

I think this might be correct. Also because exe file is named ezrider_pna instaed of IGO8 i am not game to put cracked IGO8 on device unless i can get cracked version of ezrider_pna.exe

What is really annoying is that latest maps are not even available to buy for this unit as latest map offered for Australia is 2009 Q4.
so I have 2 week old car with 12 month old maps.
Thanks very much to Bazzle and Ian

All should be fine provided you make a backup of your existing installation. Just install the cracked iGO version into the same folder as it is now, then you should be able to rename iGO8.exe to ezirider_pna.exe and it should be good to go. Depending on what version you are installing you may only need to change the executable, data.zip and license file. I would also keep the sys.txt file from your existing setup. As long as you have a backup you can always reinstate it if it doesn't work.

Trouble is if I rename IGO8.exe to ezrider_pna.exe then i have no way of restoring or doing further udates as the method of copying the files is part of ezrider_pna as far as I can tell.
The unit is also a radio dvd player ipod interface and bluetooth handsfree.
