Default Apple software on PC ??????

Anyone know if there is an emulator which will allow Apple software to run on a PC.
I want to evaluate an Apple photographic application but obviously don't want to buy a Mac unless the applicatin suits my purpose.

    Wishfull thinking I suppose.

If you have the time and your Pc is up to it......You can install One of the Mac OS on your machine.....

I think the link will give some details.

I know one of the guys at work runs one of the latest Mac OS on he's Dell..

On first reading that looked good, however part of the install process is to prepare an 8GB stick on, you guessed it, a Mac. If I had access to a Mac I wouldn't be conducting this exercise. Thanks bigfella08 but it's back to the drawing board.

Thanks for that bigfella08, I should have thought of VMware as I have recently done a VM XP on a W7 machine bit it didn't occur to me that OS X would run on it. Will start on it tomorrow.

    Hey Mr Radio

I have done what you are asking through VMware - installed Snow Leopard. It worked well - google "install Snow Leopard on windows"

Just a handy tip - once you get it going, do not reset your VMware virtual pc otherwise you will need to re-install it all again, and that gets a little long in the tooth

    Eventually purchased a mac

    cheers

You can install snow leopard on PC hardware. have a look at . Works like a charm with the right hardware and cheaper and more expandable than an iMac. But an iMac is still a great piece of kit, I run both.

    cheers

I have tried to install using instructions in link below but it fails at step 5 with a message that Mac OS X is not supported by hardware virtualisation, use a host that supports hardware virtualisation. I have tried on three machines with the same result, first two were XP machines but the last was W7 which already has a VM with XP installed. Can anyone shed any light on what might be going wrong.

Could this problem be the fact that I am running W7 Home Premium, could it be that it would work smoothly on an upgraded Windows 7, anyone have a thought there.

I wouldn't worry about upgrading Win 7 because you won't get any increase in speed. What will be happening is Win 7 is already heavy on resources and I'm guessing Mac OS will use a heap of resources from within the VM aswell and that will slow the whole computer down.

Mickstv, my problem isn't speed it's that I can get the bloody Mac OS X to load in the VM .. keep getting the following

"Mac OS X is not supported with software virtualisation. To run Mac OS X you need a host on which VMware Workstation supports hardware virtualisation."

When I try to power on at step five in the linked instructions.

MrRadio, Run the app from the link below and it will tell you if the computers are compatible. It might be something you have to turn on in Bios to get hardware visualization going.

    Hi Mr Radio
Like feakee1 mentioned, there is an option in bios. It may be called virtualisation. Haven't tried this myself but hope that helps!
