    Default Ripping Dvd's in Linux

    HI

Hope this right place? ...anyway I'm looking to move across to Linux (Ubuntu or Mandriva) and was wondering if anyone knows of a good program that will rip & burn dvd's in Linux? In Windoze I use AnyDvd & CloneDvd to do the job, anything similiar for linux?

    thank you!

I use K9copy for DVD ripping to a copy; and AcidRip for encoding to a compressed file.

I am using ubuntu and it came with the cd for the latest distro, but you can search acid rip up in the package manager as well.

Just for the record, I've f***ed up. It is however available through Synaptic under Ubuntu so some repository has it archived. I had to download it deliberately tonight; at least it's not a fatal mistake.

You need to ensure multiverse is enabled in Ubuntu to get acidrip and many other apps.
What would you do if your server was stolen or failed beyond repair?

Why the need for awkward extra software like acidrip, dvd decryptor, etc?
K9copy will rip and shrink or decode and convert to Divx or any other codec you have installed and even have K3b loaded with the finished image and ready to fire, just with a mouse click.
