Who has installed the D2Pro - Modchip for D2C Wiis. 15 wires to thw Wii ???
Can any-one please comment on this chip.
I also purchased the NeoFlex D2pro for the D2pro Modchp for easier installation.
Can anyone confirm what firmware this chip is preloaded with ???
I also purchased the D2Prog - D2pro and D2ckey Programmer to update the mod chip.
Does it come with the a flat cable connects the chip to the programmer ???
If not where is the best place to purchase this cable.
All info is greatly appreciated.

The D2pro works well. I cannot say that ive noticed any difference between them and the D2CKey chips. I have not used the Neoflex for them so cannot comment on them. The D2Pro is supplied with the flat cable, well it is from the supplier I am buying from, not sure if that is the case from every supplier but I would guess it is. I am not sure what firmware the chips are shipping with as I havnt got a programmer for them as yet.
What would you do if your server was stolen or failed beyond repair?

Just make sure you read the readme file before mucking around with the d2prog. DO NOT insert the flat cable in the d2pro while the usb cable is connected. I did this and fried the d2pro, and the d2prog. Make sure you connect everything first, then connect the usb cableAll info is greatly appreciated.

not faster to bring out SPI and programmer...
A programmer was needed as 1.0 argon was equivalent to taking a huge dump in your console, and then turning on the fan

That we will know! I'm not too concerned with this round of DVD exploit hack chips for the Wii yet.
I am eagerly awaiting the real mod chips that will allow true home brew...THIS is something worth getting excited about
It might not be needed with the current progress they are making with wii hacking. If you can replace the whole dashboard with custom firmware with the twilight hack, then its all over.
Hopefully, for our sake, it will require some work with the infectus to extract/tweak/load firmware on the mobo.

I dont see a 'seemless' hack happening any time soon, certainly not a automated hack without the need for additional hardware
And just remember the 007 hack for the XBOX, game was unavailable in stores very soon after the hack was discovered.
Best case, you will need twilight game and gecko to hack
At least thats one piece of hardware you need which will be exclusive to the dealers - more likely tho you will need a chip with a nice amount of flash so you can switch between at the very least your official firmware and your 'modded firmware'

the clicking drive issue only occurs in a small small amount of drives
so if your drive is not one of them, then there is no need.
backing up your games.
You either need one of those special overpriced LG drives
or an SD gecko + sd card
or a USB gecko.

USB Gecko is the fastest of all three and will allow you to also run homebrew (yay yay yay!)
The USB gecko also allows you to achieve 100% region free gaming. Similar to Datels freeloader.
It really is a powerful product.

Is there step by step instructions or a tutorial out there on how to update the D2Pro software with the D2Pro programmer.
I do know connect the flat cable without the USB cable connected.
Connect up the USB cable last.
Can it be done before the mod chip is installed into the WII ???
If it is installed in the WII, does the WII have to be powered up while flashing the D2Pro ???

When you download the firmware there is a readme file in there.

Received the D2pro, D2pro programmed and flex pad.
Thank you very much for your quick service.
I have followed the instructions on flash updating the D2pro chip to v1.1.
Its says all is well, but when I reconnect it up after the flash it says :
Search for chip :- A3p125
Current firmware D2pro 15 wire v1.0
It still says v1.0 after the flash.
Thi thing I donot understand is
Do not update installed chips with diode shorted! ***
The diode prevents current from d2prog from flowing to the d2c chip. If
the diode has been shorted the d2c chipmay be permanently damaged.
There is no need to short the diode. If shorting the diode "solved" any
problems you are most likely using too long and/or too thin wires for
3v3 and GND.
I know the chip is all good, because it is still detected.
