5.1 speakers through PC

I was just wondering whether it is possible to use a 5.1 speaker set up through a pc. I am assuming it wont be true 5.1 surround, but just want to use all 5 speakers. I only have 1 input in back of pc. Is there some sort of adapter that reduces all the the speaker plugs into just 1 input?

i jumped the gun a bit
find yourself a 5.1 channel sound card ~$20, cheaper for a used one.

Sound Blaster Live! 5.1 card goes well, I used one for years with no issues.

If your after a price indication. There is one on the bay currently at 99c with $6.50 shipping with 23 hours to go, will prolly go for about $20 all up, if that.
