Garmin map updates no go

I bought a 1490T back in April 2010 before all the Bonus map update promotions started so I missed out (been nice if they told me these were coming)-ha ha.
However I was prepared to pay for the map Bonus updates so I emailed Garmin Aust' and pointed out that on their Web site the American price was US$159 for these maps but our price was AU$189.
I also pointed out that seeing that the Ausie dollar is almost at parity with the Greenback what about reducing our price to AU$159 approx + the Exchange Rate charge of AU$10(a standard charge) = AU$169. Thats AU$20 cheaper.
Garmin Aust' replyd saying they would send my request to the States.
That was two months ago.
So far nothing heard, I live in hope but not holding my breath.

m8 have a read through here latest maps are always on here within a few days of release and with a bit of reading are easier than tomtom to put on a garmin
