    Default Xbox dvd bricked?

The console starts up fine everthing runs fine apart from the disk drive. I have taken apart the disk drive and put it back together, tried cleaning the lens and rails, all that happens is the disk sins up for 5 turns and then stops. I did the tweak not sure what to the laser, wherre it turns the power up? Now the laser does not light up? The disk however still attempts to spin up. Does theis mean the drive is bricked and cannot be fixed?

I have never connected it to the computer only taken it out of the xbox and had a look. The reason it broke is becuase it got knocked over, the disk tray made funny noises so i took it apart and but it back together no there is no noise just 5 spins of the disk then nothing. The laser did light up until i changed the strentgh of it.

easiest / most fool proof way to get a working xbox would be to dump the details of your old dvd drive and load them onto a replacement drive.
