    Default blu-ray bands

    i just got a blu-ray player and the movies i have watched have a black band at the top and bottom is this normal ive tried differant screen modes but cant get rid of them
    any idears

    Sounds normal.

    If the movie was shot in a widescreen format, eg: cinemascope, then it's normal. Most movies shot for cinema release (eg: not just for TV) have a wide aspect ratio.

    cheers for that i thought it may be normal as the picture looks right ie heads are the right shape
    should have got a bigger tv
