I bought my Garmin Nuvi 1300 from the US also and have now download Australian and New Zealand Maps on a Micro Sd card with the correct file names it work straight away even new which country I was in!
Hi guys. I would like to know If someone can help me with this "problem".I got a nuvi 1300 which I bought in USA with N. America maps.Now I would like to know if it is possible to load maps for Europe on it.I will really appreciate your help.

Big place Europe, 4Gb Micro Sd card is your best option, put the gmapsupp.img in a folder called Garmin or Map should work also.
If you have multiple map images, the folder on the card will need to be called Map.
In the Map folder the map files can be named anything.img
Eg; WesternEuro.img
EasternEuro.img
You will be able to select or deselect the maps on your GPS in tools/settings/maps/info.
