    Default M7 westlink route

Hi all, can someone please tell me why the latest igo8 map will not take me onto the "M7" westlink route from Wollongong to Queensland, but on my Tom-Tom it will take me on that route?

It is simply that the TomTom map is more recent than the iGO8 map. Until a later version of the iGO map becomes available that's the best you can do. When you say latest iGO map do you mean Sensis R17 or Navteq 2010Q3? The Navteq map is later than the Sensis one.

    Cheers, Ian

silly question but do you have it set to avoid toll roads?

Personally I wouldn't use the M7 to go from wollongong, it takes you too far west. use the princes hwy and head up king georges rd (not during morning peak) follow it up to the pacific hwy and turn left. probably be quicker than the M7

Can't answer the 1go8 question, never having had one, but can confirm the TomTom works fine.

As others have suggested, possibly an out-of-date map.

At least with the TT, you can nominate a particular route, even if it doesn't select it automatically.

I agree that the M5/M7/M2 route is faster, providing there are no delays with roadworks, accidents, etc, but that can be said of any route.
