Gramin 1260 replacement battery

I have seen on the web that replacement batteries can be had for garmin GPS.
What battery is used on the 1260?
I want to replace the battery as i am sure that the old one is so dead that the unit keeps cycling. I cannot get it to charge either by the car or an external charger.
I can get the 1260 apart but the old battery is inside a folded plastic cover.
I can open out the cover but not sure on how much force / methods to remove the old battery and whether it is glued in.
Any advise help appreciated
