    Default SPIII Query...

I have 2 old Streetpilot 3's that I use for RDF and bush navigation (offroad I use Shonky maps, GREAT maps), I also have City Navigator 7 for street navigation and I paid big $ for this and the Tassie maps were pretty ordinary to say the least (big innacuricies in this release). I use these gps units as they have a serial port and they are rugged so they suit the job well, it is worth my while to get later maps for these units and is the basic data compatible?

    Regards - MM

OK, after some digging on the net and in this forum of course I have found it seems that my SPIII needs non-nt maps? and that they are no longer produced. I ran the map reverse converter (Thanks Pietu) on the City Navigator Australia and New Zealand NT 2011.30 mapset and mapsource saw them but alas I get the non-compatible message when trying to load them to the SPIII, am I doing something wrong or do I need an older mapset?
    Thanks

    Regards - MM

Mate with a SPIII says the newest map he could get to work was city Navigator 2008 maps, do you need it for routing. if not then something like the Oztopo v3.

    Ah, that explains it then...
I do use it for routing hence the Garmin software and I use it for offroad but I do have Shonky maps for that. I'll look into the Oztopo V3 option too, I can always use more maps.....
Has anyone got an 08 file (unlocked or keygeneratable)?

OK, on the weekend I went to the local flea market and picked up a Logic Gear SL350 for a few dollars with all it's accessories so I can have a separate updatable gps for street navigation. It also has the 07 maps on it so I looked up the website to upgrade and Viola, dead link so I guess the company bringing them in from China has gone belly up??
I looked at Pocket Mio as a mod but if I can simply put a speed camera spud fine in there and updated maps I would be happy, what is the opinion on here....
I have later maps to try from another Chinese device, seems like a good toy to hack....

    Best Regards - MM

Update, the Chinese GPS I got the "later maps" out of was sold in 08' yet mine from 07' has later maps in it, seems his bargain gps was cheap for a good reason as after checking the file his maps were 06' and my gps set them as outdated as soon as I loaded and cold booted the unit. His un-named gps uses the IGO8 format and all of the maps do work but the POI file format seems different, has anyone had experience with the Logic Gear SL350 Miopocket mod as I don't seem to be able to get it to apply.

    Best Regards - MM
