The reason they dropped there Guide channel was to use extra bandwidth to use for there HD Channel
Mpeg4 is a lonnggg way off from starting here
Hey all, has anyone heard of a definate time frame for the rollout of MPeg4 transmissions on terrestrial? The last I heard CH10 was starting to dual broadcast HD & MPeg4 (that's why they dropped their HD guide) in about 6 weeks with a soft rollout over the next 3-5 years. Any SOLID info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Does this MPEG-4 encoding work with existing STB's? It would be only natural to let us all buy DVB-T STB's then change formats rendering all usless!!!
Exactly thats why its a very long way off...

GovCo review underway into our digital experience and for new standards. DVB-T, H.264 will happen slowly. Meanwhile the rest of the world takes it on straight off.
Using an H.264 LCD okay with our MPEG2 (10HD) for what its worth. Porkop; that said- many an STB to MPEG2 won't function, on that basis, you'd be seeing dual-format if you follow/simult.
