Default VAST power off updates/restarts etc

Austar and Aurora do regular updates so that if you turn the STB totaly OFF for any long period of time, it may take awhile for the STB to operate again or you may need a 'Hit' from on high if its been OFF too long so what does VAST do in this case?
I was wondering about this for those who may go "Leyland Brothering' and may not turn the box on or even have the dish directed at the satelitte for lengthy periods of time.
Unlike the old Humax, would I be wrong in thinking the VAST stb is always 'ON' even in 'standby' mode for OTA updates when ever they occur?
I stand unequivicably behind everything I say , I just dont ever remember saying it !!

The UEC VAST stb is always 'ON' even in 'standby' mode for OTA updates.

If the box is turned off or not connected for a short period of time - when it is reconnected it will soon receive a hit OTA to re-enable the card, just like happens with Austar.

If it is off for some considerable time I am not sure, I presume you may need to ring up to get the card an OTA update if it does not fire up automatically.

all you need to do is go to the mysattv site and put your card number in and request a hit.
when I did it it took less than 2 min, beats trying to talk to some one

Couldn't find anything at mysattv site.
I think you meant to say, go to website & click on the re-activate link.
    That will certainly work.
