    Default 45 minute activation, a RECORD???

    My unrelated 7 tmes removed cousin received his VAST stb today and had all area channels activated some 45 minutes after registering on the MYSATTV site.
    He already held an Authorised Aurora card so this may have helped.
    We were surprised that he didnt get ABC/SBS when he connected the STB to the dish as I thought they were available on turn on but they ALL came on basicaly at the same time.

    If I may paraphrase dear old QV, 'We were suitably Amused'.

    Did a second activation on the same details (with aurora card )as my 1st Vast box on line.
    After reciving the sucsessfuly submitted page on line, i walked 10 m to the telly only to find to great
    Excitment all channels going.
    Afterall i was expecting 48+ like on the 1st box.
    Since they allready Have Authorised details , the 2nd or 3 rd & ect seem thay are only a click away.

    I wonder how many boxes you can ask to be added the first authorised box before they start asking questions.

    The online form now has room for 3 sets of box n card details to Authorise in one application

    so it has changed a bit since I did my last one.
    the last one I did before xmas took less than 20min I think some one was in a hurry to get home at that time

    I activated one this morning and it was almost instant.

    Good, sounds like there is no backlog issues with the eastern seaboard activations. That's one excuse that can be deleted for not turning WA on.

    The recent and continuing floods in both Queensland and Victoria may be having an effect on the number of applications too.
    The last thing I would be thinking of if I was in their situation would be about the closing of the analog transmissions.

    If you try to get an activation processed at present, you'll get the following email:

    This office is currently affected by Cyclone Yasi, we will recommence operations as soon as the cyclone passes. To register your smartcard, please visit mysattv.com.au, for all other enquiries please call the digital ready website on 1800 20 10 13. We apologise for any inconvenience.

    I wonder if the Mysattv site is an automated one ??
    When you fill in the releveant fields, so long as they conform to accepted parameters particularly if you have either Aurora or an approved VAST for a second instal, it is done by the computer and would only be checked by someone if a 'field' flagged a query.

    That was initially the case, but ended mid January.

    All VAST boxes now require activation for any channels other than the info/tuning channel.

    I have just called as my activation is 36Hrs so far. Informed full team will be back on monday 7th Feb

    God help anyone trying to activate like me, on phone for over an hour then disconnected, bloody pathetic service!

    Told I cannot make an official complaint until 15 days of non activation, 15 days to punch a few keys?

    were you activating by phone or was that a call to complain about non activation
    I & most others had no probs with the online activation, anything from 45 minutes to 5 days or so.

    Hope it all works out for you.

    I made the application online, 1 of the boxes has the ABC/SBS only the other has ABC3 & CH800.

    Just saw a online activation take about 1 minute, I think the pictures beat the "decoder registration" email

    I recently had one take 3 weeks... tried umpteen times to get through by phone to chase it up.... useless. System puts you on hold, then got a loop of saying press X number, etc, but none of them work.. then get disconnected.

    Went throuth this process for several hours, then gave up and sent another application, noting when previous application was lodged.

    Received an email reply soon after, but activation took another 2 days to happen...... grrrrrrr.
