VAST EPG Improvements?

I have not watched VAST for extended periods but the EPG doesn't seem to list any more infomercials than terrestrial. Maybe it was on the old system

SCTV Central shows infomercials at 3pm instead of Nurses. Imparja shows informercials at 1pm instead of The View. GWN7 shows informercials from 1am-5.30am instead of normal overnight programming from Seven.

All you need to do is get a printed TV guide like TV Week for your State to see the variations between Metro and Regional Terrestial channels and so far VAST seems to be based on the regional channels programming.
I once heard a claim the regionals charge less for these Infomercials but that doesnt make sense as what they replace the channels would have to pay a fee for and I dont think the Metro channels would knock back a fee paying program to run one they had to pay for, most of which are those the viewer should be paid to watch !!!
This has been going on ever since the channels went 24 hour broadcasting over 20 years ago now.

Correct me if wrong, but believe it is created and updated by Sean from Kalgoorlie.

There currently is nothing available of this kind, but maybe if we get behind and support the creator, all VAST channels could be included aswell.

The LAND newspaper used to print a guide for Aurora but I havent bought it for ages.

That guide in Xplorer's post is excellent.
What I want is a guide for the '400' News channels and SC10 to show NSW news at 5pm weeknights instead of the current Victorian news.

That would be excellent to have the VAST channels in an online guide.

Would be even better if VAST got their EPG to match what's onscreen on all channels & maybe even add a search facility & then I woke up.

noticed last night that the EPG seemed to be matching what was on screen, had a look this morning & all but Go channel 99 appeared to be in sync with the programming.

Cool looks like their working on it.

Why isn't it working properly? I am using Google Chrome and although the page loads I can't see any program details. It is the same with both versions. I'll try Firefox and see what happens.

Looks great Smacca, will be even better with some fine tuning.
The times listed for Tas, NSW & Vic, are time shifted 1 hour forward of whats screening on all channels.

ie: your program has 11am for what's screening at 10am.

Probably your source information to blame for that.

Didn't check the other States as they are irrelevent to my current timezone.

Wow, things just keep getting better, Go Channel 99 now in sync for Tas. boquet.

That makes all channels currently synchronised with EPG on VAST box in south eastern time zone.

Hope they keep it up.

Sorry about that last post, I must of been dreaming.

Go Channel 99 is still 1 hour out of sync with VAST stb's EPG.

Don't watch the channel anyway, only found my error when checking Smacca's online guide against what's on screen.

How come Smacca can get his online guide right in 1 day & VAST can't get it right in 6 months

Have been of the air for a bit with visitors, but checked the channels again today & Go channel 99 is now in sync again.

That gets the Vast EPG all good in the south, hopefully permanently.

If they can't keep it right we should get Smacca to take it over, he's got it together.

Don't be so sure about that just yet. I reckon the data for Imparja South and SCTV South would be more accurate on VAST itself than on my online version. I'm just using SCTV Tas and Nine Melbourne for those channels as the proper ones don't exist in the community database just yet. So some programs may be incorrect on my guide.

Ok, so you can only adjust to the info available, at least you accept feedback & can get the time right.

Vast is near impossible to get feedback to.

The difference Smacca is you have put your heart in to it.

You've done yours in 2 days & they have had six months on VAST

Appreciate all the feedback. What pisses me off the most is that Imparja is running the Nine side of the operation. They suck at running anything. The sooner Imparja is sold off to Nine or WIN the better. That way they can focus all their effort on NITV and get it exposed nationwide, and we would get good quality Nine channels with proper EPG.
