    Default VOIP to Radio

Has anyone heard of a way to call a 2 way eadio from a voip phone?
Perhaps something like a PAP2 connected to a radio rather than a phone??
Perhaps a Skype connection to radio??
    You get the idea!

    Yep... Well kinda...

Motorola trunking networks, and I am sure several repeater interfaces allow for this to happen - Although I'm not 100% sure about VOIP direct from a ethernet cable to radio but definetly PSTN exists, so it wouldn't be hard to accomodate

Do you have an idea in mind??

I have discovered that ham Radio Echolink software can be hooked to Skype so you can "dial" anyone in your skype list, and maybe skype in/out. Havent tried it as yet, not a big skype user.

Drawback is you need to be a licenced HAM and there are many regulations when interconnecting radio to PSTN.

It might be a bit off topic, but why arent more small businesses who have fleets on the road using radio more ? I've seen some astronomical business phone bills.

It used to work great in the 70's!
