Default IP camera fer outdoor use

Hey guys. I am after a cheapish outdoor IP video camera after a few low lifes thought it would be funny to tip my daughters car on its side outside home last weekend. Needs to cover about 8m from the house and better than vga quality. Do not want a wireless one. Anyone got any suggestions? I'm going to be connecting to my Qnap NAS for recording.

    Cheers

    Tim

CCTV is one of those things where the old adage 'you get what you pay for' still rings true. The number of people I speak to that have purchased so called professional equipment for the likes of Jaycar & Dick Smith and are not happy with it, is increasing by the day.

Here's something you didn't really want to hear but I'm sure you already know. Forget trying to ID anyone at night unless your pockets reach your feet.

The PTZ function is software based. Not mechanical. Which all megapixel cameras are capable of doing due to the resolution they record at.
