Daughter has gone away for a couple of weeks, and has left her Cable card with me. Can any help with the Freq that i need to set the XML file to
eg i have it set to 500 as shown below atm, but not getting a response from the card, If the Freq is correct then i can move on to the next step.

    Regards

I think this should do it (note no freq set...)...replace xxxxx with port number

I have seen this working with frequency set at "600" and priority set to "fifo" instead of round.

Just wondering if it should be set one way or the other?

C-Bander, not quite sure what you mean by XML file (satellite.xml file)? but I have NDS cable card working in 500s as many others do.

Dead simple - load recent pli image with Ccam and sort lnb settings on 500s (tuts on this forum) and put blue card in 500s and hey presto, pictures. Or am I off on a diff tangent here?

I believe C-Bander is talking about the newcs.xml config file.

If you are not sharing the NDS Cable card then all you need to do is instal CC Cam 2.08 and the config file and then set the provider to CC Cam and put the card in the front slot and it will work as default. No need to edit the CC Cam.cfg or NEWCS.XML or anything.

The reason you are not getting pictures is you may find that the card has missed an update and needs to be put in the Provider box again.

so how do we get the updates comming on CCCam 2.05 and above?
do we just leave it on default?
reason i ask is that the pakages upgrade did not get a hit in the 500s,i was wondering if updates would get through.

Use the "search button". ( I love saying that)

This was answered just the other day by me and others.

When I tried a cable card in a DM 500-S flashed with Gemini plus newcs and evocamd, the card had no trouble and got all updates etc.
    Haven't tried other images/cams, so can't comment.

For how long ag ? My son has cable blue card in 500s, using Gem 3.6 and CCcam1.7.1 (For Aurora with keys) and has been using for 18 months now.

Misses update on average once every two months and hey presto, back in original provider box and pictures within 1 to 2 hours.

Seems CCcam 2.0.5 upwards will update blue card (not sure how long people have had it updating so far), but will not update Aurora keys.

Point taken. I certainly didn't have it on for months on end, and it was a while ago.

And re the post above, I guess we need to know how long the card was in the box before the pictures stopped.

Have you put it back in your prov box to get the update yet?

Cccam 2.08 should update it, you just need the correct config for your card.
