Naturally as Selectv uses IRD2 encryption. But the Arion is only IRD2 and is not backwards compatible.
Does the Select tv decoder support ired 2 ?

So A Goldy is a no goer in there then ??? on D2
??
That's right. Unless your receiver is backcompatible to irdeto1 then a goldie is no go. I think he was confused as you said for use on Optus D2. I'm a little by that comment aswell. There's only 1 or 2 Aurora channels on D2. BTV.
I have a Select AF-3030IR it wont accept any other card than a select card in fact the box is still locked to the original card that was in it and my select card does not run in it.
it will get unlocked as soon as you start a subscription with them. if you have a current select sub you can ring them up and they will unlock the receiver for you.
I have an aurora 1.2 floating around. I will try it with the Arion and let you know if it works.
The boxes are locked until activated on Selectv.
As I understand, that's to stop unscrupulous installers 'upselling' them to other subsription services. They are very cheap kit wholesale.
Anyhow that's what I was reliably told. Haven't seen it with my own eyes.
The box I have has been used before Select told me it should be unlocked when card deactivated but still locked for me.
