    Default Directory locks in Windows 7

    I've now installed this on a few client machines but after months of hesitation I decided the time has come where I should have one of my home systems configured for Windows 7.
    One of the first annoyances I've come across is viewing files through Windows Explorer.
    I've noticed that a directory 'Lock' symbol is associated with a number of folders on the route directory - on my system the locked directories are;
    C:\$Recycled Bin
    C:\Documents and Settings
    C:\Recovery
    C:\System Volume Information
    I cannot access C:\Documents and Settings because it is locked, yet I can access my documents via
    C:\Users (even though the C:\User\User Name\ shows it as being locked)

    Is it possible to remove all of these 'Locked' symbols, so that as the system administrator I can access any directory I want to.

    The only changes I've made since the initial install was to open
    'Folder Options' from the control panel and from the view tab I unticked anything that was hidden.
